Lerma Castle Oasi
The ancient Spinola Castle in Lerma stands proud on a rock overlooking the Piota stream. It is within the walls of a medieval village, which is considered to be one of the “Villages of the Heart”, which have been preserved over the centuries: the nucleus of the village which took it’s name from l’Herma.
Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and small lakes, the Borgo (village) characterizes the small town of Lerma which encloses and preserves the ancient traditions of a proud people in a patch of land surrounded by the castles of Alto Monferrato, a UNESCO heritage site.
A corner of a small ancient world very close to the Capanne di Marcarolo Natural Park, on the Ligurian Apennines, an area of extraordinary natural beauty between Piedmont and Liguria, rich in history and nature.
